Sunday Las
Vegas
Went to breakfast at Hash House a Go Go. I saw this restaurant on a show on Foxtel called Man v. Food; it has
a number of branches in Las Vegas but I went out into the suburbs to the
original. I didn’t take my camera but you can see the full delights of this
place by clicking on this link http://www.hashhouseagogo.com/vegas/gallery/
Then I went and did some shopping at a giant
discount centre. I bought some Nike shoes for $50 and Polo shirts for $40. The
traders doing the best business were those selling cold drinks and ice creams.
On the way back to the hotel I drove the full
length of the Strip; the 8 lane road on which most of the main hotels and
casinos are located.
Had dinner with Jess and her parents Ruth and
Richard at one of the hotel restaurants La Cave, a Spanish Tapas place; we sat
on the balcony and got the warmth from outside and also some of the benefit of
the air conditioning from inside. Jess is especially pleased that the owner of
the Wynn Hotel, Steve Wynn, is a vegan and so all the restaurants here at the
hotel have vegan and vegetarian menus. The food was yummy (non vegan for me),
After dinner I did a long walk along the strip to
see the fireworks at Treasure Island, the volcano at The Mirage and the
fountains at The Bellagio. There were thousands of people watching each of
these events with slack-jawed amazement.
